Jamie's gives back with free massages and facials for national relaxation day.
August 15th is NATIONAL RELAXATION DAY,(called National Slacker Day in England). This holiday was started in the U.K. in 2001. It is a national effort to get people to realize they need to stop and smell the roses. Take a break from our hectic lifestyles with relaxing and de-stressing massage and facials. Learn that life is not worth living, if we are slowly killing ourselves everyday. This day is dedicated 24 hours to enjoy much-needed "R & R." Come celebrate National Relaxation Day on August 15 with Jamie's Therapeutic Touch and Treat Yourself to free chair massages, mini facials, make-up and skin consultations on us from 9-12! This is our way of saying thank you for an amazing 5 years in business.
As summer starts to wind down and the "Back to School" madness begins, give yourself one last day to relax and enjoy the warmth of the summer sun. In the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, we all tend to forget that we need to stop and just REEELLLLAAAXXX. Everyone deserves a special day during the year for total relaxation. Since August 15th is National Relaxation Day, it is the perfect day to schedule a relaxing massage or facial with a licensed, therapist. Like most Americans, you probably know that a massage therapy session or a facial feels good and can help you relax from a hectic day or ongoing life stresses. Did you know that there are also different types of massage therapy and facials for various health conditions and situations? Massage therapy can improve your quality of life and fit your lifestyle. While massage therapy relaxes you from the daily grind, it can also be effective for a variety of conditions such as recovery from a sports injury or prevention of an injury. Massage has also been shown to be helpful in soothing chronic back pain by reducing muscle tension and spasms. It can be useful in easing headache pain by targeting and releasing pressure points. In addition, getting a massage on a regular basis can aid in the body’s ability to manage those stresses in a healthier way. Massage doesn't just feel good, according to Rhone, Research shows that massage can reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, relaxes muscles, increases blood circulation, increases endorphins, the body's natural painkillers and improve range of motion.
Facts about stress …
1/3 of Americans are living with extreme stress and nearly half believe their stress has increased over the past five years. (American Psychological Association)
People who go for a single deep-tissue massage reduce their blood pressure by seven points. Over time, lowered blood pressure can add six years to your life. (Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine)
By 2020, the top five diseases will all have the underlying contributing factor of stress. (World Health Organization)
“Therapeutic massage helps people feel less anxious and stressed, relaxed yet more alert,” adds Rhone who has recently celebrated their 5th anniversary for Jamie's Therapeutic Touch full service day spa.
“Taking good care of our bodies with massage and spa services helps to reduce pain or stress and overall health and well-being can improve,” says Rhone. “We cannot totally eliminate stress in our clients’ lives, but we can teach our clients about their bodies so they can better handle the stresses that comes with everyday life.”

Raindrop Therapy now offered at Jamie's Therapeutic Touch
Jamie’s Therapeutic Touch has expanded its services now offered, thanks to continuing education by Monika Camacho and owner Jamie Pettiette Rhone.
Jamie’s Therapeutic Touch is a full-service day spa located at 1730 Crockett Rd. in Palestine, offering a variety in treatments.
Rhone and Licensed Massage Therapist Camacho recently received 12 hours of continued education in Dallas Tx learning new treatments Raindrop Therapy and Deep Tissue Bamboo Massage using real Bamboo..
Stressed out? Tired of the same old, same old? Surgery out of the question? Why not try something different and non-harming to help combat health conditions. What is available on the market? Essential Oils, Aromatherapy and Massage Therapy. These are sweeping the nations with their benefits and ways of helping people, from getting off some pain medications to avoiding back surgery. Developed as a result of extensive research, Raindrop Therapy is a massage technique that applies carefully selected essential oils along the spine to correct back pain caused by muscular tension and toxicity. Viruses and bacteria lie dormant along the spine, not only depleting the immune system, but eventually causing inflammation and misalignment among other problems. These powerful essential oils, known for their anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, work to correct many of the ailments suffered as a result of blockages in the nerves along the spinal column. An eight step technique is used to apply the essential oils blends along the spine. Using a variety of hand to body techniques the oils are then massaged in after which towels are used to complete each application and help with absorption. Some of the benefits reported include:
* Relieved stress and anxiety
* Pain relief
* Spinal realignment
* Revitalization
* Detoxification
Drops of the purest nine essential oils applied in a raindrop-like fashion along the spine transport you to an alpha state of relaxation. A therapeutic experience that may keep working for several days but sometimes weeks, even months.
For more information, visit the spa’s Web site at www.spajamie.com. To schedule an appointment, call 903-723-SKIN (7546).

Permanent Makeup Cosmetics is No Longer for Celebrities only!
New Service : Permanent Makeup Cosmetics is No Longer for Celebrities only!
Jamie's Therapeutic Touch would like to welcome Jolonda Freeman Permanent Cosmetics to our full service day spa and medi spa. Jolonda has been doing permamnet makeup for five years, and is a Certified Intradermal Cosmetic Technician. Freeman is currently living in Dallas Texas, and driving in to perform Permanent Makeup at Jamie's.
The role of today's typical woman is very demanding; she wants a career, family, a home, and she wants to look great throughout her average sixteen hour day. "With permanent cosmetics, this is no longer a fantasy, and no longer for celebrities only," says Jolonda . Jolonda Freeman, a licensed permanent makeup technician at Jamie's Therapeutic Touch, says there are many reasons a woman should love her "NEW" look without make-up. Everyone should consider getting their eyebrows, lips or eyelids done. “It’s so convenient for people who have hectic lifestyles and just don’t have the time to spare each morning,” she said. Permanent makeup is also ideal for women with allergies to makeup, or for those who might suffer from poor vision or an unsteady hand. We even shock ourselves some mornings when we get up... completely without make-up and looking most of the time like we have been whisked through a time machine looking like someone we don't even know... now there is an answer for the very basic make-up that we need in order to look great... it's, believe it or not, permanent make-up done to a minimum, just to give us that fresh look. Most importantly, we need to make ourselves blossom by taking care of our health and looks and by maintaining a youthful and positive attitude. This may be the time to think about having your eyebrows put on in permanent, artful strokes to simulate the hair that didn't come back after many years of tweezing or to permanently enhance the eye lashes or maybe the lip color has faded. It's time to consider permanent lip liner or full lips - imagine not having to wear lipstick and still having the lush lips of youth. The process of permanent makeup is perfectly safe and looks very natural. The process, known as micro-pigmentation, dates back to the start of the 20th century and became popular in the 1930s. In the last few decades, inks that contained iron-oxides were replaced with all-organic pigments, which prevent the discoloration and fading that made the procedure less-desirable in the past. Freeman has worked on women ages 16 to 80, who chose permanent makeup for reasons of both convenience and necessity, she said. “I love what I’m doing because it helps people look and feel better about themselves.” The majority of women who have permanent cosmetics love it. There is a wonderful freedom waking up in the morning looking as good as you did the night before. Active women can be free of worry about their makeup smudging. Women with unsteady hands or allergies can have makeup is without the problems associated with applying it day after day. Do your research, and enjoy the benefits. Discover what many thousands of women already know - Permanent Makeup makes them look so natural! Not all clients are women. Many of the clients are men , as permanent cosmetics may offer some flattering applications for a man as well. For example: lash enhancement, which denses the lashes, adds color and depth to eyes; brow enhancement, which makes the brows stronger and more prominent, and can change the shape of the entire face and expression. Particularly for the very blonde man, a taupe pigment is implanted between the lashes and between the brows creating a greater depth and definition of features. Although models and movie stars can comfortably add eyebrow powder and eyeliner when needed, the average man doesn’t have the skill, time, or inclination. Permanent makeup is an inexpensive technique for enhancing the appearance of the upper third of the face. Eyebrows affect the angles of the face and the eye appearance. Eyebrows can “lift” a sleepy eye or bring down a high forehead. Eyebrows can move the observer’s eye from a balding pate to a soulful expression. Eyebrows help locate the eye for that meaningful eye-to-eye glance.
